OneEvent Technologies’ multisensor smoke alarm — part of the company’s OneEvent™ building and home monitoring system –recently earned a UL (Underwriters Laboratories) Listing. UL is the world’s leading independent third-party standards testing laboratory in regard to compliance and regulation.
The multisensor smoke alarm’s UL Listing means that UL has tested representative samples of the product and determined that it meets the industry’s requirements, based on the company’s nationally recognized Standards for Safety.
“UL’s approval of our smoke alarm affords some amazing opportunities, particularly in apartment building units and hotel rooms where there are not 110-volt-powerered smoke alarms,” said Jim Zirbel, OneEvent’s Vice President of Markets. “Building owners and managers can be instantly notified by our app if there’s smoke or a potential fire in a particular apartment or room so that they can quickly take preventive action to address the problem without having to activate the fire alarm and clear out the whole building. Our device essentially puts an end to the nuisance of building-wide evacuation in cases where a fire or smoke doesn’t threaten the whole facility.”
The multisensor unit’s presence will make it easier for building owners and managers to become aware of possible lease violations and no smoking violations, Zirbel added.
