Daniel Parent

Daniel Parent

Chief Operating Officer & Vice President of Engineering

Engineer with 25 years of experience managing projects and developing high-tech products in the health care and telecommunications industries.
More About Dan

Dan Parent’s career reflects his ability to harness technology for improved safety and quality of life. Born and raised in Mount Horeb, Wis., he earned his B.S. in engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville. He designed his first home security system in 1990 as part of a college-level project, terming the device “The Watchdog.” He says that although it wasn’t connected to anything (the Internet wasn’t invented yet), it collected metrics and displayed them on an LCD.

Parent has served in a variety of engineering capacities at Cardiac Science, Artesyn Technologies, Ultratec and GE Healthcare. While at GE, he gained valuable experience in software and hardware development, project leadership, six stigma manufacturing techniques and supply chain management. He’s highly experienced with sensors, from hot wire anemometers to pressure transducers.

Parent always dreamed of being part of a startup but until recently, he couldn’t find the right team to build solutions. He left his job at GE Healthcare in 2015 to work full time for OneEvent.

Parent’s engineering prowess and drive for constant innovation, coupled with Wedig’s entrepreneurial spirit, are the perfect melding for OneEvent Technologies.
